Superintendent Search Update

The School District of Oconee County has begun the important process of selecting our next superintendent. As your Board Chair, I want to share an update and reassure our community that this process is being handled with transparency, diligence, and, most importantly, with our students at the center of every decision.

We are committed to finding a leader who will:

• Put students first in every decision.

• Respect and protect local control while cutting unnecessary red tape.

• Ensure our district remains a good steward of taxpayer dollars, keeping resources where they matter most — in the classroom.

Community input has also been a key part of this process. We appreciate those who have taken the time to complete surveys and share thoughts. Your voices matter, and they help guide us as we weigh candidates.

The Board will continue working diligently in the weeks ahead, with the goal of naming our next superintendent who can both honor our district’s proud tradition and launch us into a future of even greater excellence.
